How to Change the Location on Your iPhone or iPad Weather Widget

The Weather widget on your iPhone or iPad provides quick access to current conditions and forecasts. By default, it displays weather information based on your current location. However, you can customize the widget to show weather details for a specific location of your choice.

Changing the Weather Widget Location on iPhone

  1. Add the Weather Widget to Your Home Screen: If you haven't already, add the Weather widget to your Home Screen by following these steps:
  • Touch and hold an empty area on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
  • Tap the + button in the top-left corner.
  • Scroll down and select Weather.
  • Choose the widget size you prefer and tap Add Widget.
  1. Edit the Widget to Change the Location:
  • Touch and hold the Weather widget on your Home Screen.
  • Tap Edit Widget.
  • Tap the Location field.
  • Search for the city or location you want to display.
  • Select the desired location from the search results.
  • Tap outside the widget to save your changes.

The iPad's Weather widget functions similarly to the iPhone's, but with a few differences due to the absence of a native Weather app on the iPad.

  1. Add the Weather Widget to Your Home Screen:
  • Touch and hold an empty area on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
  • Tap the + button in the top-left corner.
  • Scroll down and select Weather.
  • Choose the widget size you prefer and tap Add Widget.
  1. Edit the Widget to Change the Location:
  • Touch and hold the Weather widget on your Home Screen.
  • Tap Edit Widget.
  • Tap the Location field.
  • Search for the city or location you want to display.
  • Select the desired location from the search results.
  • Tap outside the widget to save your changes.

Please note that on the iPad, tapping the Weather widget will open the Weather Channel website in Safari, as there is no native Weather app. (geekupdated.com)

Additional Tips

  • Multiple Widgets: You can add multiple Weather widgets to your Home Screen, each displaying weather information for different locations.
  • Widget Sizes: Experiment with different widget sizes to find the one that best fits your Home Screen layout and provides the information you need.
  • Location Services: Ensure that Location Services are enabled for the Weather app to allow automatic location detection.

By customizing the Weather widget's location, you can stay informed about the weather conditions in multiple areas, all from your device's Home Screen.
