Staying informed about severe weather is crucial for safety. Enabling storm notifications on your tablet ensures you receive timely alerts about hazardous conditions. Here's how to set up these notifications:

1. Using Built-in Weather Apps

For iOS Devices:

  • Enable Location Services: Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. Ensure Location Services is turned on, then scroll down to Weather and select Always.

  • Activate Notifications: Open the Weather app, tap the menu icon, then go to Notifications. Allow notifications if prompted. Under Your Locations, select your location and enable Severe Weather and Next-Hour Precipitation alerts.

For Android Devices:

  • Enable Location Services: Go to Settings > Location and ensure it's turned on.

  • Activate Notifications: Open the Weather app, long-press its icon, select App info, then go to Notifications. Toggle on Weather alert to receive notifications.

2. Using Third-Party Weather Apps

Many third-party weather apps offer customizable storm notifications. Here's how to set them up:

  • Install the App: Download a reputable weather app from your device's app store.

  • Configure Notifications: Open the app, navigate to Settings or Manage Weather Alerts, and subscribe to the desired alert types. Ensure your location is set correctly to receive relevant notifications.

3. Enabling Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA)

Tablets with cellular capabilities can receive Wireless Emergency Alerts, including storm warnings. To enable them:

  • For Android Devices:

  • Go to Settings > Connections > Safety and Emergency > Wireless Emergency Alerts.

  • Toggle on Allow alerts and select the types of alerts you wish to receive, such as Extreme threats, Severe threats, and AMBER alerts.

  • For iOS Devices:
