How to Receive Rain Stop Notifications on Your iPhone

Staying informed about weather changes is essential, especially when it comes to precipitation. Your iPhone's built-in Weather app offers a feature that notifies you when rain is expected to stop, helping you plan your activities accordingly. Here's how to set it up:

1. Enable Location Services for the Weather App

To receive accurate weather notifications, ensure the Weather app has access to your precise location:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Tap on Privacy & Security.
  • Select Location Services.
  • Scroll down and tap on Weather.
  • Choose Always under "Allow Location Access."
  • Toggle on Precise Location for more accurate notifications.

2. Allow Notifications from the Weather App

Next, grant the Weather app permission to send you notifications:

  • Go back to Settings.
  • Tap on Notifications.
  • Scroll down and select Weather.
  • Toggle on Allow Notifications.
  • Ensure options like Banners, Notification Center, Lock Screen, and Sounds are enabled.

3. Enable Precipitation Notifications

Now, set up the specific alerts for when rain is expected to stop:

  • Open the Weather app.
  • Tap the List icon (a bulleted list) at the bottom right.
  • Tap the More button (three dots) in the bottom right corner.
  • Select Notifications.
  • Under "My Location," toggle on Next-Hour Precipitation.
  • If you have other locations saved, you can enable notifications for them as well.
  • Tap Done to save your settings.

By following these steps, your iPhone will notify you when rain is expected to stop in your current location, helping you stay dry and plan your day effectively.
