Weather Widget Locations Cheat Sheet for Non-Technical Users

Weather widgets provide quick access to current conditions and forecasts directly from your device's home screen. Managing these widgets' locations ensures you receive accurate and relevant weather information. Here's how to set up and customize weather widget locations on different devices:

iPhone and iPad

For iOS 14 and later:

  1. Add the Weather Widget:
  • Press and hold an empty area on your home screen until the apps jiggle.
  • Tap the '+' icon in the top-left corner.
  • Search for "Weather" and select the widget.
  • Choose the widget size and tap "Add Widget."
  1. Change the Widget's Location:
  • Press and hold the Weather widget on your home screen.
  • Tap "Edit Widget."
  • Tap "Location" and select your desired location from the list or use the search bar to find a new one.

For iOS 16 and later:

  1. Add the Weather Widget:
  • Press and hold an empty area on your home screen until the apps jiggle.
  • Tap the '+' icon in the top-left corner.
  • Search for "Weather" and select the widget.
  • Choose the widget size and tap "Add Widget."
  1. Change the Widget's Location:
  • Press and hold the Weather widget on your home screen.

Apple Watch

  1. Change the Default City:
  • Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
  • Scroll down and tap "Weather."
  • Tap "Default City" and choose the location whose weather you want to track.

Note: The Apple Watch weather widget reflects the default city set on your iPhone.

iPad

  1. Add the Weather Widget:
  • Press and hold an empty area on your home screen until the apps jiggle.

  • Search for "Weather" and select the widget.
  • Choose the widget size and tap "Add Widget."

Windows 10 and 11

  1. Add the Weather Widget:
  • Right-click an empty area on your taskbar.
  • Select "News and interests" and choose "Show icon and text."

  • Click on the weather icon on your taskbar.
  • Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  • Select "Edit location" and enter your desired location.
